Jose Viviano Genaro Garza García, born in Pesquería Grande, Nuevo León, on the 3rd of December 1837 and died in Villa de García, Nuevo León, in Decemebr 14 of 1904, was a prominent Mexican lawyer and politician who served as Governor of the State of Nuevo León repeatedly.
He is regarded as one of the best rulers that gave the state important contributions to the political and social life of Nuevo Leon, for carrying out various upgrades: such as the introduction of the railroad in the state, the creation of new schools and also help the needy.
Here is a short biography of his by Antonio Guerrero Aguilar that I thought you might enjoy. This book is great since it will provide you with more information about the political climate in Nuevo Leon from 1871 to the turn of 1900’s. You also never know he may be in your own family tree.
