Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is a document that contains the results of the January 1, 1667 elections for Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This document caught my attention since it is being displayed by an auction website out of Dallas Texas and it is an original.

I can’t help but wonder why it is there and not were it should be, at the archives of Cadereyta or Monterrey. In any case I am thankful that Heritage Auctions took the time to digitize it into a high quality image thus making it available for the public.

Below you will find the low resolution images, look at the source for high quality images, and my transcription of them. If anyone is willing to translate them into English just send me the translation and I can post it here.

This document is very interesting and it is in two parts. The first one mentions the results and the elected officials. The second is the swearing in of those officials.

The names that are mentioned int hese documents are as follows:

Nicolas Lopez Prieto
Alonso de Leon
Joseph Mendez Tovar
Juan Lopez de Jaen
Antonio Leal
Gregorio de Castro
Lorenzo Perez
Juan de Cortinas
