Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is the May 1, 1767 Baptism of my 4th great grandfather Anselmo Perez in Santiago, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

This record indicates that the parents of Jose Anselmo are Gregorio Peres and Maria Theodora Marroquin. It is interesting to note that he is labeled as being a coyote. According to wikipidia a coyote has African, Spanish, and Indian.

Joseph Anselmo grows up to marry Maria Rita Rodriguez for whom I have not been able to identify parents for.

  1. In 1908 and 1932, immigration papers show my great grandmother traveling with Trinidad Perez Sanchez, possibly a nephew or a son. She was unmarried but it may be this boy’s father, Trinidad Perez Sánchez from Monterrey, Nuevo León, who is my great grandfather.
Could he be linked to this “Jose Perez”?
