Death Record of Manuel Angel Rios
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is the February 7, 1829 death record of Manuel Angel Rios who is my 5th great grandfather. The record states that he was 75 years old and was a neighbor from "la Mujeres".

Las Mujeres, is the present day town of El Barrio, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. It is said that the place was named as such for the beautiful women of the area.

Back to our record, it states that he confessed and received sacraments at that same ranch. The record also states that he died form "empacho".

Empacho is a form of upset stomach caused by undigested food that gets stuck in the stomach walls or intestine causing an obstruction.

The record further states that he did not make a will since he was poor. Also, it is clear that he was buried in Cerralvo.

Finally the record mentions that he was married to Manuela Rodriguez and she is not listed as being death. This is a great clue since it tells me to look for her death record after this date.

As you can see there is a lot of information in this small record.
