It is great for one to know how his family tree started- I myself have traced back my great Grandfather and Grandmother from Durango Mexico .
Further research should take me somewhere to Spain where our last name originated " Soria Spain".
I hope that that book "Patriots from the Barrio" by Dave Gutierez covers Military History of
all the young Hispanic men and women who have served in our Armed Forces of America.
Many of us have even made 20 yrs. career and more in the service of the United States and
are well decorated -We must toot our own horn. One of my cousins won the Medal of Honor
in Korea 1951.
I myself served as a combat Rifleman with an Infantry Unit in 1950 in Korea- and as
a Combat Engineer in Vietnam with the First Air Cav Div.
I have the book Patriots From The Barrio. Excellent book.
