This 222-page book contains six generations of the descendants of Jose Ramon Guerra and Maria Rosalia Hinojosa. In 1757 they were among the twenty two additional families that had arrived to Mier, present-day Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas since its founding in 1753. Their descendants can be found all over Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Texas, and beyond. This book contains genealogical information from the early 1700’s through the late early 1900’s.
Jose Ramon Guerra was baptized May 1, 1715 in the Capilla of San Francisco Javier which used to be in the present city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. His baptism record indicates that he was eight days old when baptized and thus that places his birth date as April 23, 1715. He was born to Captain Cristobal Guerra Cañamar and Nicolasa Baez de Treviño.
Jose Ramon married Maria Rosalia Hinojosa after February 3, 1752 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon since on that date the bishop of Guadalajara formalized their marriage investigation. An investigation that was required since they both were related by blood. Maria Rosalia was born about 1735, probably in Cerralvo. We get her birth year from the 1750 census of Camargo were she is listed as being 15 years old. Her parents are Jose Manuel Hinojosa and Maria Ines Chapa whom are also listed among the 1753 founding families of Mier.
Jose Ramon died/buried on June 23, 1798 in Cerralvo and Maria Rosalia on June 14, 1773 in Mier.
This book has three sections. On the first section you will find six generations of descendants for Jose Ramon Guerra and Maria Rosalia Hinojosa. The second section contains four generations of ancestors for Jose Ramon. The third and final section contains four generations of ancestors for Maria Rosalia.
Keep in mind, this book as all my others are only tools to help you build your tree. Once you discover a death date, baptism date, and or marriage date get a copy of the original. It is very rewarding to do so and you will learn more details about your ancestors.
Also this book does not include every descendant of theirs since that is impossible, it only includes the ones that I have identified through documents, reliable published, and unpublished works.
