This book is also very special to me since my paternal grandmother was a Marroquin. Growing up I came to find out that it is a rare last name in Tamaulipas and South Texas. The bulk of Marroquin are found in the Allende and Santiago, Nuevo Leon area where her grandfather came from.
This 349-page book contains eight generations of descendants of Joseph Nicolas de Marroquin and Francisca Montemayor Rodriguez. Nicolas entered (Nuevo Leon) on or before 1707 since he married Francisca on January 9, 1707. Joseph Nicolas de Marroquin is considered to be the progenitor of the Marroquin last name in Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, and Texas. The time period this book covers is from the 1700s to the 1950s.
For years I have searched for the parents of Nicolas de Marroquin but have not
found them. The parents of his wife Francisca are Francisco Rodriguez de Montemayor and
Ramona de Ayala.
This work is an attempt to document the descendants of Nicolas Marroquin in order to make it easier for others to connect their Marroquin lines back to him.
Keep in mind, this book as all my others are only tools to help you build your tree. Once you discover a death date, baptism date, and or marriage date get a copy of the original. It is very rewarding to do so and you will learn more details about your ancestors.
Also this book does not include every descendant of theirs since that is impossible, it only includes the ones that I have identified through documents, reliable published, and unpublished works.

Hey Moises, I meet a gal with the last name MarroquÃn but her family is in Peru. I know Peru was also conquered by the Spanish. Have you found any links from our Marroquin surname to the Marroquin’s in Peru?
Do any of these books come in Spanish? I would like to buy this book for my father but he does not read English. Let me know if it is available and how I can get it.
Thank you
Unfortunately, they are not in Spanish.
