This is the death record of Gertrudis Flores who died August 18, 1688, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Gertrudis is my 8th great grandmother.
I used the research of Crispin Rendon to obtain a copy of this death record. As you can see it is very badly stained but you can see some of the text and also some clues that help us make an educated decision that we have found the right record.
From various marriage investigations we know that Gertrudis was the wife of Diego Gutierrez de Castro and in this record we can only see the "go" before the last name of Gutierrez.
These investigations also mention that her parents are Pedro Flores de Abrego and Margarita de la Garza. This record also provides the name of the father and partial name of the mother thus helping us identify this record.
I tried my best to transcribe the above record and below is the results of my efforts.

I believe her parents, Pedro Flores de Abrego & Margarita de la Garza are in my family tree, 8 generations back through my mom’s family. My mom was Carmen Flores.
