Baptisms of Doctor Coss 1927-1945
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This 147-page book contains the index of 2,436 baptisms for Dr. Coss, Nuevo Leon, Mexico that took place between 1927-1945 at the Parroquia de Sagrado Corazon.

This index is a transcription of a prior index that can be found on FamilySearch film number 1410995. This original index is sorted by baptism year and the one in this book is sorted by the children’s last name. Thus it is easier for you to find names within it. Not to mention, the original is in cursive and hard to read to the untrained eye.

This book was made possible by members of the We Are Cousins Community and here I list their names. Special thanks go out to Clementina Pederson, Elizabeth Guerra, Ricardo Villarreal, Claudia Quintanilla, Fidel Ramirez, Linda Reyes, Irma Holtkamp, Moises Garza, Leroy Villarreal, Mari Chapa Rivera, and Ruby Arredondo.

These baptisms were conducted by priests from Los Aldamas, Nuevo Leon and this may be due to Dr. Coss being under the Parish of Los Aldamas.

Also, these baptisms were extracted from a much larger index that belongs to Los Aldamas. When we were transcribing it we started to notice that starting in 1927 the index started to list baptism books for Dr. Coss. This prompted me to separate those names into a separate list. It is my assumption that these books were located in Los Aldamas at the time that the original index was created. Unfortunately I have no way of verifying if these books continue to be located in Los Aldamas or are presently housed in Dr. Coss.

Something else to note, is that this book does not contain full dates. It only contains the year that the child was baptized, his/her name, name of the father and mother. I also included the film number and that page were you can find it in the original index. I also included the book number and entry number for each baptism. This will come in handy if you ever go in person to the church in Los Adamas or Dr. Coss to look for a particular baptism record.

Also this book is valuable since FamilySearch has no church records for Dr. Coss.

Finally, please excuse the misspellings. It is inevitable that a project of this size will not have misspelled names or last names. An attempt was made to fix them but we are not perfect.

I hope that you find this book useful and thank you for adding it to your genealogical library
