This is the October 21, 1820 baptism record of Maria Francisca Peña who was baptized in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She is my 3rd great grandmother.
I originally found the baptism date in an index book but instead of October 21 it has the date as October 23. The lesson here is that you always need to look a few pages before and after the date if you can't find it. Transcription errors do exist, we are human.
Maria Francisca is my ancestor through my mothers side. The parents of Maria Francisca Pena are Santiago Peña and Maria de Jesus Barrera. She grows up to marry Jose Hipolito Tanguma on November 10, 1835 in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. At the end of this post is a link to their marriage record.
It is interesting to note that at the time of the baptism she was ten days old and that she was born in El Tecomate. If you have any information on this location please let me know in the comment section.

Using google amps I got another ranch that is more near the place of her baptism.
Tecomate was located just outside of Paso Del Zacate.
This is great. Thank you for sharing. MarÃa Francisca Peña is my great aunt. Her parents José Santiago Pena and Maria De Jesús Barrera are my 5th great grandparents. I’m descendent through their son José Maria Peña born in 1813.
That is awesome. I have yet to find who the parents of Santiago and Maria de Jesus are.
I tried to open record of 1820 baptism of Maria Francisca Pena – our great (many) aunts but was unable to see the record, what am I doing wrong
