Bartolome Cuellar and Maria Gregoria Martinez
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This 538 page book contains six generations of the descendants of Bartolome Cuellar and Maria Gregoria Martinez. In 1750 they were among the thirty-nine founding families of Revilla later on known as Guerrero Viejo in present-day Tamaulipas. Their descendants thrived and can be found all over Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Texas, and beyond. This book contains genealogical information from the early 1700’s through the late 1800’s.

Bartolome’s full name is Bartolome de Lizarraras y Cuellar and was born in or around Saltillo, Coahuila in the early part of the 1700’s. His father was Asencio Lizarraras y Cuellar and his mother was Ana Garcia de Trevino.

On July 25, 1732, Bartolome married Maria Gregoria Martinez who was born prior to October 29, 1711 since on that date she was baptized in Monterrey and was born at “el Valle del Carrizal”. Her parents are Miguel Martinez and Clara Trevino y Renteria whom are also listed among the 1750 founding families of Revilla.

Bartolome and Maria Gregoria were related and in order for them to get married a marriage investigation was conducted. It is dated January 30, 1732 and from it we can tell that they had the same second great grandparents.

Bartolome was buried on July 7, 1775 in Revilla and Maria Gregoria on February 19, 1798 also in Revilla/Guerrero Viejo.

This book has three sections. On the first section you will find six generations of descendants for Bartolome and Maria Gregoria. The second section contains four generations of ancestors for Bartolome. The third and final section contains four generations of ancestors for Maria Gregoria.

Keep in mind, this book as all my others are only tools to help you build your tree. Once you discover a death date, baptism date, and or marriage date get a copy of the original. It is very rewarding to do so and you will learn more details about your ancestors.

Also this book does not include every descendant of theirs since that is impossible, it only includes the ones that I have identified through documents, reliable published, and unpublished works.
