Inquiry:
I am looking for information on Demetrio de la Garza and his wife Dionisia Casas. I have found the baptismal records for 2 of their children – Jose Encarnacion (1879) and Maria Ignacia (1881), and they also had another son named Nicolas(1889). Those records show Baptisms registered at Nuestra Senora del Refugio in Matamoros. Demetrio’s father was listed as Rafael de la Garza and his mother was listed as Ignacia Lopez Gonzales (or Gonzalez Lopez). Dionisia’s parents were listed as Encarnacion Casas and and Juana Saurez or Juarez. Dionisia (Leonicia) Garza died in Victoria, Texas (1935). I believe that Demetrio died in Matamoros before 1900, and his widow moved her family back to Texas (they were in the 1900 Goliad census). Any information about Demetrio is helpful. Thank you!
