Marriage of Jose Domingo Trevino and Maria Elena Pena
Last Names of Nuevo Leon
The following is the 1827 Church marriage record of my 4th great grandparents Jose Domingo Treviño and Maria Elena de la Pena. They got married in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
It is unfortunate that the parents of both Domingo and Elena are not provided.
Through other records, we know that Domingos full name was Jose Domingo Nicodemus Treviño and was the son of Joseph Luis Treviño and Maria Estefana de Lizarraras y Cuellar.
Elenas full name is Maria Elena de los Santos de la Pena and is the daughter of Jose Maria de al Peña and Maria Antonia Peña.
The marriage record states that Domingo was married before and that a dispensation was done due to “parentesco de affinidad”. What this means is that they were not related by blood but probably his first wife was related to Maria Elena. To date, I have not been able to find the name of his first wife and or if he had any children with her.
The document also states that both of them were neighbors from “el Alcabus” meaning Arcabuz.
