“Yesterday I was listening to the WAC podcast episode 10, where you were talking about the 1930 Mexican Census, where you were explaining why we don’t have the census for all cities in Mexico.
The main reason, is that the Mexican Census was never kept at the national archives. the census was taken and copies were sent to the municipal, state, and federal levels. On the Federal level, they never archived the census. And some municipal and state archive did keep their copies and some did not. So the images for the 1930 census that we have, are copies of the census that have been found in the municipal and state archives.
